Veterinary Acupuncture

Supporting recovery, mobility and comfort.

Veterinary acupuncture is a gentle treatment that can be used alongside conventional veterinary care to help manage pain, improve mobility and support recovery from a range of conditions. By stimulating specific points on the body with fine, sterile needles, acupuncture encourages the body’s natural healing processes and can help improve your pet’s overall comfort and wellbeing.

At our clinic, acupuncture is commonly used as part of a personalised treatment plan and is always performed by an experienced veterinarian.

Book an appointment today to see if veterinary acupuncture could help improve your pet’s comfort, mobility and quality of life.

When can acupuncture help?

Veterinary acupuncture may be recommended to support pets experiencing:

  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Muscle soreness or injury
  • Back and neck pain
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Recovery after surgery
  • Nerve or spinal conditions
  • Chronic pain management
  • Reduced mobility in older pets

Every pet responds differently, and we’ll discuss whether acupuncture is a suitable option based on your pet’s individual needs.

What happens during an appointment?

Your pet will first receive a thorough veterinary examination to determine whether acupuncture is appropriate. If recommended, very fine sterile needles are placed at carefully selected points around the body and left in place for a short period while your pet relaxes.

Many pets become surprisingly calm during treatment, with some even dozing off during their session.

The number of treatments required will depend on your pet’s condition and how they respond over time.

Is acupuncture safe?

When performed by a qualified veterinarian, acupuncture is a safe, low-risk treatment that can be used alongside medication, surgery and other therapies. Our priority is always your pet’s comfort, and treatment plans are tailored to suit each individual animal.
