At Sandy Paws Vet, our fully equipped in-house laboratory allows us to perform many diagnostic tests on-site, providing fast results when your pet needs them most.
What can laboratory testing help diagnose?
Laboratory testing is commonly used to investigate:
- Infection and inflammation
- Kidney and liver disease
- Diabetes
- Anaemia
- Hormonal conditions
- Urinary tract infections
- Intestinal parasites
- Blood clotting disorders
- Many other medical conditions
Your veterinarian will recommend the most appropriate tests based on your pet’s symptoms and examination findings.
Tests we perform
Our in-house laboratory allows us to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests, including:
- Blood chemistry
- Complete blood counts (CBC)
- Urinalysis
- Faecal testing
- Blood clotting tests
- Infectious disease testing
Some specialised tests, including biopsies and advanced laboratory analysis, may be referred to an external veterinary laboratory.
Fast results when they matter most
If specialised testing is required, samples are sent to an external veterinary laboratory. Most blood test results are available within 12–24 hours, while biopsy results generally take up to two weeks, depending on the type of analysis being performed.
